The Failing Right Heart: The Neglected Chamber

The right heart is often the forgotten chamber. Over the years, there has been numerous medical advances in the treatment of the left heart failure. Short of diuretics and the targeted treatment of the underlying cause, there has been no effective treatment for right heart failure. During the talk, we will go through the clinical presentation, investigations, and treatment of real clinical cases. Causes of right heart failure, such as large atrial septal defect, Eisenmenger’s syndrome and pulmonary hypertension will be discussed. We will also explore the new advances and treatment algorithm in the field of pulmonary hypertension.
