Dr Edgar Tay is an interventional and structural heart cardiologist specialising in transcatheter valve interventions, adult congenital heart disease, and pulmonary hypertension. He trained at the National University of Singapore and completed Advanced Specialist Training in Cardiology at the National University Heart Centre Singapore (NUHCS).

He was awarded a 2-year Ministry of Health Scholarship for structural heart disease training — spending one year at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London in adult congenital heart disease and pulmonary hypertension, followed by transcatheter valve intervention training at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada. He subsequently served as Senior Consultant and Director of the Structural Heart Disease Programme at NUHCS, where he established the TAVI, MitraClip, Percutaneous Pulmonary Valve Implantation (PPVI), and Balloon Pulmonary Angioplasty programmes. He holds an Assistant Professorship at the Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.
