Cardiologist | Cardiac Electrophysiology & Arrhythmia Specialist | Deputy Medical Director
Dr Jeremy Chow is a cardiologist specialising in cardiac electrophysiology and the management of heart rhythm disorders. He trained at the National University of Singapore and completed Advanced Specialist Training in Cardiology at the National University Heart Centre Singapore (NUHCS), where he went on to serve as a Senior Consultant in the Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing department.
Dr Jeremy Chow undertook fellowship training in cardiac electrophysiology in the United Kingdom, including at the Bristol Heart Institute and St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. He has been an invited faculty member at regional and international electrophysiology meetings and has proctored catheter ablation procedures. He has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and clinical practice guidelines, and has been involved in the training of cardiology residents and senior residents in Singapore.

Dr Jeremy Chow takes a systematic approach to the evaluation and management of heart rhythm disorders. He discusses the full range of treatment options with patients, including medical therapy, catheter ablation, and device therapy, and helps them understand the relative risks and benefits of each approach. He has a particular interest in catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation and complex ventricular arrhythmias.
What does Dr Jeremy Chow specialise in?
Dr Jeremy Chow specialises in cardiac electrophysiology and the management of heart rhythm disorders. His clinical focus includes catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, SVT, and ventricular tachycardia, as well as the implantation of pacemakers, ICDs, CRT devices, and loop recorders.
What is catheter ablation?
Catheter ablation is a minimally invasive procedure in which thin flexible tubes (catheters) are guided into the heart to identify and eliminate the abnormal electrical pathways causing an arrhythmia. It is used to treat conditions such as atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, SVT, and ventricular tachycardia. Dr Jeremy Chow performs catheter ablation at AHVC.
What is atrial fibrillation (AF)?
Atrial fibrillation is the most common sustained heart rhythm disorder, characterised by rapid and irregular electrical activity in the upper chambers of the heart. It can cause palpitations, breathlessness, and fatigue, and increases the risk of stroke. Treatment options include medication, cardioversion, and catheter ablation.
What is an implantable loop recorder?
An implantable loop recorder (ILR) is a small device inserted under the skin of the chest that continuously monitors heart rhythm for up to three years. It is used to investigate unexplained syncope (fainting), palpitations, or suspected arrhythmias that have not been captured on shorter-term monitoring. Dr Jeremy Chow implants loop recorders at AHVC.
